Sophie Scott has been the ABC’s national medical reporter for five years. She has been honoured with many awards, including the Australian Museum’s Eureka Award for medical reporting, Research Australia’s Thank You day Award for raising awareness of medical research, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists excellence for broadcast reporting and many reporting awards from the Cancer Council.

Her reports can be seen on ABC television news in Australia and throughout Asia on ABC’s Australia TV network. Sophie’s stories also appear on ABC local radio and on ABC Newsradio.

Sophie is the Vice President of the Australian Medical Writers Association and a board member of the charity arm of the Australian Medical Association (NSW).
